After finishing the flooring project in the master bedroom closet, I decided to tackle the other auxiliary room in the master suite, which was a smaller walk-in closet that my wife uses as a makeup / powder room. Last year, I added new shelving and drawers to make it easier for her to keep everything organized. This year, I had to remove all of that from the room so that I could rip out the carpeting and install new flooring. It was quite an ordeal, but I was able to do it without having to completely disassemble all of the furniture and without having to mess up any of the existing organization work that she had done.

Once the furniture was out of the way, I started removed carpet, painted the walls, and installed the new flooring:

The next day, I installed quarter round trim, and moved the furniture back in place:

As a final touch, I installed floating mounts for her collection of Disney “ears”, including room for additional purchases in the future:

For a project that only took a weekend and change, it turned out very well! The master suite is now in good shape across the board, and thankfully has no more carpet. It also no longer has any placeholder furniture, after I replaced the old, falling apart IKEA dressers in the main closet with new dressers made of solid walnut, which provide a much nicer look than the previous furniture.
