Several years ago, I converted the smaller of the two walk-in closets in the master suite to a powder room for my wife, where she could have a vanity to do makeup, along with what I thought was plenty of storage for makeup, nail supplies, and other things. Over the years, as she acquired more and more supplies, that turned out to not be the case. I wanted to keep the IKEA cubed shelves in the room, but add acrylic drawers and storage shelves that would allow her to better organize and display everything. After ordering a couple of samples to confirm fit, I made a giant order on Amazon that, due to the wonders of Amazon Prime, showed up a couple of days later.

After a lot of unpacking work, installing the drawers was pretty straightforward and after a weekend’s worth of work on her part, everything was installed and looks great!

While I was at it, I decided to also install new storage in her shoe closet, which had gotten fairly unruly as well:

I built some much taller shelving that fits the shoe closet better, and the end result was a massive improvement:

While neither project was a ton of work, these were two simple and satisfying things to knock out during the doldrums of winter!
