We had been casually looking for an upgrade to the lake house for a while now, and the broken leg provided an opportunity to ratchet up the search. Thanks to our realtor Nicole (the negotiations took much longer than expected and were a little bit of a rollercoaster), we were able to find and get an accepted offer on an incredible place in Merrimac, with perfect waterfront, two docks, and a very cool style, all within walking distance of Merrimac and a short boat ride to Okee, Tipperary Bay, Party Cove, and the rest of the lake!

We had previously looked at a different house that seemed like “the one,” but it had a fatal flaw: It was in a part of the lake that becomes unnavigable for pontoons when the water levels are low. This one certainly does not have that problem, and is frankly in a much better location. It’s easy to get to via Sauk City, and the drive from the Verona house is much more beautiful than the old one which just followed the interstate.
This house also presents a major opportunity for projects, since we’ll definitely want to update the design and style. My wife has already started putting together ideas, so I’ll certainly be kept busy for a long time!
