Vanity Shopping

I was in Dallas the entire last week, so I was able to stop into the Knox Henderson Restoration Hardware and look at vanities. I am planning on ordering a Reclaimed Russian Oak vanity with a marble top and a farmhouse-style sink, which connects the mid-century modern meets lake house style that I’ve tried to achieve.

I brought home several wood samples to confirm the finish, and decided on the grey finish to contrast with the trim, instead of the natural oak which wasn’t a perfect match.

In addition to the vanity, I’m planning on getting floating wall cabinetry in a similar finish. Restoration Hardware doesn’t make floating wall cabinetry, but I’ve been able to locate complementary furniture that matches pretty well.

IKEA Run

Over Labor Day Weekend, my wife and I took advantage of some less than ideal weather to drive to the IKEA in Oak Creek, just south of Milwaukee.

We took a trailer, and filled it with 12 Pax Wardrobe Frames and various shelves and accessories.

I managed to get the whole wardrobe package for the closet for around $1700, which is the beauty of IKEA.

After hauling everything back to Verona, I had to carry all 2,000 pounds of furniture up the stairs and to the closet.

Now I have to assemble everything. I’ve built one, and will build the rest over the next two weeks.
