Today I finalized the crown molding designs and signed a contract with the carpentry company, Scheife Custom Carpentry, who will be doing the work. Scheife provided me a basic sketch when we were initially discussing the project:
The design shows how it will work in the context of flying crown, with the cathedral ceilings in the three living rooms. We’ll be able to keep a consistent line between the traditional crown in the foyer and the flying crown in the first living room. The molding we’ll be using is a golden stained oak, which matches the trim in the rest of the house.
Hopefully the work will be completed by Christmas, which would make this a great Christmas present to myself!
