Three Plumbing Problems Solved

Three Plumbing Problems Solved

Today, I called in a pro to help with three plumbing issues at the lake house:

  1. Installing the Dishwasher
  2. Disconnecting the Bathtub Drain
  3. Connecting the Refrigerator Water Lines

The second and third issues were things I could have done myself, but since I already had a pro helping with #1, I figured I might as well get the other two addressed. The dishwasher install required installing a new valve to connect the supply line, removing the old valve, and removing the old dishwasher. That last part was the hardest, since it was very heavy and had leveling feet that made it difficult to get out from under the counter. We opted to saw off the feet, and then were able to get it out.

After that, sliding in the new dishwasher and connecting the supply line, drain line, and electrical line was pretty easy.

The second task was to disconnect the bathtub drain. The difficult part there was that it was in very close proximity to other pipes, and wires. We were able to get the line cut without damaging anything though.

From there, I was able to lift the second half of the tub off of its base, and get it ready to haul away tomorrow.

Lastly, we connected the refrigerator water supply line, and verified that the water was flowing properly.

The next round of appliance installations will be after Christmas, so the lake house projects will largely be on hold until then.
