Since buying it in 2017, I’ve remodeled almost every aspect of the lake house. The last major piece that needed to be done was the deck, which was clearly past the end of its life and was getting close to becoming a safety issue. This spring, I worked with the same construction company that rebuilt the last flight of stairs to the beach last summer. They were able to knock out the project in a few days, and it turned out beautifully!

In addition to the deck, they rebuilt the ramp that goes up from the sidewalk to the front door of the house:

Once the wood dries out after a few months, I’ll stain everything. In the meantime, it’s complete just in time for summer! Along with the deck, I also cleaned up the stairs and the beach so that things are ready for a summer of swimming and boating:

Speaking of the boat, this past weekend I picked it up from winter storage and set up the awning cover on the slip.

It’s not going to be super warm for Memorial Day Weekend this year, but it will still be great to get the boat in the water and cruise Lake Wisconsin.
